DONALD A. SACHS
MONROE TOWNSHIP
Donald A. Sachs, died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2009, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Manhattan, N.Y., he resided in East Brunswick before moving to Monroe Township 11 years ago. He was an Army veteran having served from 1946-1947. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering in 1950 from the City College of New York. Prior to retiring in 1989, he taught Electrical Engineering in the Corporate Education Center for Western Electric, Princeton for 38 years. He was an avid golfer and devoted fan of the New York Giants.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Ruth Schnapp Sachs; two sons, Lawrence and his wife Sheila and Jeffrey and his wife Lisa, both of East Brunswick; and five grandchildren, Rachel, Andrea, Jacob, Aaron, and Sydney.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 25 in Mount Sinai Memorial Chapels, Cranbury Road at Evergreen Boulevard, East Brunswick. Interment will follow at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 196 Princeton-Hightstown Road, #11, Princeton Junction, NJ 08550.
