PHILLIPS
PALM COAST, FLA.
Ernestine D. Phillips, of Palm Coast, Fla., passed away Friday, Oct. 29, 2010. Mrs. Phillips was an educator for years, and her memberships included the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church of Palm Coast, Alpha Kappa Alpha, Inc. Sorority, Phi Delta Kappa, and the Christian Women's Association of Palm Coast. She was a tournament tennis player for most of her life, she loved playing cards, and was an avid music enthusiast.
She is survived by her husband, David L. Phillips; a daughter, Leesa Phillips; a granddaughter, Zameena Phillips; cousins, Myrna Shuman and Sartura Shuman-Smith of Tampa; and a dear friend, Corrine McGhee.
Calling hour will be from 12 noon Monday, Nov. 8 until the funeral services at 1 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Service, 201 Sandford St., New Brunswick. Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority will conduct an Ivy Beyond The Wall Ceremony during the visitation period. Interment in Franklin Memorial Park Cemetery, North Brunswick.

To the family of the late Mrs. Phillips: I all so share in your loss. Mrs. Phillips was my teacher in Orange,N.J for many of years.I spent many of days at her home in East Orange.Sleep on mom god knows what was best.I'll never forget you and the love you shared with me.

To Mr. Phillips and Leesa we are so sorry for your loss. We were next door neighbors for more than 25 years, so Mrs. Phillips was a big part of our lives growing up. The days of sitting on the porch, "delicious breezes" and playing cards will alway be a part of our memories of Mrs. P. forever. She will be truly missed. Our Deepest Sympathy.
