Brick - Eugene C. McCourt, age 81, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 21, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. A NJ resident his entire life, Gene was born in Newark, raised in Irvington, and then moved to Point Pleasant where he graduated from Point Pleasant Beach High School.

After graduation, Gene started a family and soon joined and proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. After serving and returning home, he launched a successful contracting company, which he operated for several decades before retiring. Always active, Gene spent his retirement working at the Home Depot, and finally serving at the Goodwill Store in Point Pleasant, NJ. He made lifelong friends wherever he went.

In his free time, he loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and sitting by the Manasquan inlet relaxing, reading, and enjoying the water.

His calm, loving, and steady presence will be missed by all.

He is predeceased by his mother Peggy, father Eugene, and sister, Sharon McDowell.

Surviving are his loving daughters, Alison Hawes and her husband, Munroe; Deirdre Herman and her husband, Andy; his sons, Jesse Carrajat and his wife, Meghan and Lester Carrajat and his wife, Crystal; his 8 cherished grandchildren, Brandon, Rachael, Ryan, Ashley, Donna, Madeline, Elsie and Emilia.

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 27, 2021 from 2-5 p.m. with a Memorial Service and Military Honors being held at 4:30 p.m.
