(Home News Tribune)

FELTON RUSH SR.
AGE: 54 SOMERSET
Felton Rush Sr., age 54, was called home to be with the Lord Sunday, Jan. 4, 2009, while surrounded by his family.
Born in New Brunswick to the late Melvin Rush Jr. and Otra Womble Rush, he was educated in the Franklin Township Public School system and attended Livingstone College, Salisbury, N.C.
Felton came to know Christ at an early age, as an active member of Mt. Zion AME Church in New Brunswick. He was baptized at the age of 12 and felt his greatest accomplishment was knowing that he assisted many of his friends in finding Christ.
Felton was very insightful, filled with wisdom and humanity. He worked at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital for many years where he befriended many. Felton enjoyed the sport of fishing, which he found very relaxing.
Felton was predeceased by his father, Marvin Rush Jr.
Felton leaves many family members and friends to cherish the memories of his life; his daughter, Rebekah (Nicholas) Solomon; two sons, Felton Jr. and Devin Rush; grandchildren, Isiah and Nia Solomon and Jaden Hood of Somerset; his loving mother, Otra Womble Rush of Somerset; a brother, Alvin (Jacquleyn) Rush of South Orange; a sister, Marvetta R. Troop of Somerset; stepchildren, Attamese (Charles) Bolton, Michael (Adrienne) Bailey, Amina Bailey, Angel (Andy) Stanley, En'Chante' Collins, Christina Sotillo and Evelyn Jackson; godparents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Walden of Somerset; a godbrother, Bobby Walden of Raleigh, N.C., and a host of loving relatives and friends.
Services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, at Mt. Zion AME Church, New and Neilson Streets, New Brunswick, preceded by viewing from 5 to 7 p.m. at the church. Burial will be at Franklin Memorial Park Cemetery, North Brunswick. Arrangements by Anderson Funeral Service, 201 Sandford St., New Brunswick.

To Sister Rush and Sister Throop:

Our Heavenly Father does not make any mistakes. He knows when enough is enough. Because of our faith we know that one day we will all gather around the Throne of God and worship Him forever more.

I thank God that He allowed me the opportunity to see Felton one more time before he was called home. I remember the day in which we were baptized.

Stay blessed. You and the rest of the family are in my continued prayers.
