Francis "Frank" Curran

Bridgewater - Frank was born in County Leitrim Ireland ad was formerly of Edison before moving to Bridgewater in 1988. Frank graduated in 1971 with BA degree in commerce and an advanced diploma in Education in 1972 from University College Dublin. He also earned his Master's degree in Economics from Fordham college. He was employed as a marketing executive in sales for Lucent Technologies for over 23 years in Springfield NJ. Frank later worked for DSET Corp in Bridgewater where he was a sales director for IP Solutions and OSS Nokalva in Somerset where was senior solution specialist. He was a Communicant of Holy Trinity R.C. Church Bridgewater and also longtime member of AOH of Somerset County. Also he was a member of Iaanwj Wharton.

He enjoyed golfing and reading. Frank was an aficionado of Irish music and the language and he was well known in all Irish music circles of NYC area. Frank was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother and will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

He is predeceased by several siblings. Surviving are his wife of 45 years Catherine (Kate), daughters Noelle Curran and her husband Willie Mannion and Sinead Normant and her husband Michael, sisters Cait Quinn and Pauline Caulfield, and 2 grandchildren Eva and Rory Normant.

Prayers will be said 9 am Wednesday at Bruce Van Arsdale Funeral Home, 111 North Gaston Ave, Somerville. Followed by 10 am Mass at Holy Trinity R.C. Church, Bridgewater. Interment to follow at St. Bernard's Cemetery, Bridgewater. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at the funeral home.

I have known Frankie for at least 40 years. He was a fine man and an outstanding musician. We go back to the early John Barleycorn days and he was always kind and invited me to sing a few songs with the Evergreens. I will truly miss Frankie.

I will cherish my memories of playing music with Frank Curran and Mike Berry at Mikes house on Tuesday evenings many years ago. Frank was always so willing to share his knowledge of Irish music with everyone.

Frank was one of the nicest men I have ever met. I played music with Frank ever so often and revered every moment. I have been fortunate enough hear a few of his enchanting folklore's. His story telling could brand the soul and they will be echoed to my children as best I am able. . Until we meet again..
