Gary Shomsky

Edison - Gary Shomsky 58, of Edison, died on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Hackensack University Medical Center. He was born in Elizabeth, and lived in Carteret before moving to Edison. He worked for JFK Medical Center in Edison as a Respiratory Therapist. He loved golfing, fishing, and playing baseball and soccer in his youth, but Respiratory Therapy was his passion.

Gary is predeceased by his mother, Marion Shomsky. He is survived by his wife, Narda Shomsky; his 2 stepsons, Ryan and Brett; his father, Michael; siblings, Karen and Steven, Michael and Kristen and Robin and Bryan; and many nieces and nephews. Private Services were held under the care of Synowiecki Funeral Home, 56 Carteret Avenue in Carteret.

Narda,
I am so sorry to Hear of Gary’s passing. We used to go out with the 2 north 3-11 shift to celebrate our January Birthdays. There where 3 of us and we would start at Bennigins then off to the playpen. Also gave him his paperwork when he was a rehire as I worked in employee health. I just cannot imagine your sorrow. God Bless will keep you and family in my prayers. Michelle Hafler Osterberg

Gary was a teammate of mine in little league. I’ll always remember him as a nice person. Both Gary and Narda were colleagues of my daughter at JFK. And his dad was also a classmate with my mother back in Carteret. My condolences to the family. Rest in Gary.
