George and his parents survived WWII in Budapest despite repeated threats to their existence by the Hungarian government and later the Nazi occupiers. In 1949 George joined his parents in Israel. In 1952 he attended one year at the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology. He then emigrated to the US in 1953 and obtained his Bachelor's (1956) and Master's (1957) Degrees in Civil Engineering from MIT. George had a long career with CF Braun & Company and later as a private consultant in the field of Civil Engineering. He kept in close contact with many former schoolmates and colleagues all over the world throughout the years and also kept close tabs on conditions in his home country of Hungary. He was an avid piano player and supported local pianists by contributing to the Young Pianist Competition of New Jersey founded by Yelena Ivanov. George also traveled extensively throughout Europe and to Israel, usually with his longtime friend, Marianne Vago.

George was predeceased by his father, Geza, in 1980; his mother, Zerline (Mully), in 1987; his uncle, Josef (Joska) Dach, in 1989; and his uncle, Miklos Dach, at the hands of the Nazis in 1945. He was also predeceased by his longtime friend, Marianne Vago, in January 2013. George never married but does leave behind a number of relatives in Israel including his cousins, Rafi Ronen and Ruth Razumne.
