GEORGE FRANCIS THOMSEN
AGE: 74 CLIFFWOOD BEACH
George Francis Thomsen, loving husband and father, of the Cliffwood Beach section of Old Bridge, died Friday, Jan. 15, 2010, at home. He was 74 years old. Born in South Amboy, he resided in Cliffwood Beach for 40 years. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the US Air Force. He was a member of the Laurence Harbor Fire Co. #1 for 50 years, a life member of the NJ State Fireman's Association, and a member of the Laurence Harbor Exempt Association. He was employed for 32 years at General Motors in Linden in plant security. George attended the Laurence Harbor Community Church.
He was predeceased by his parents, Johannes and Stella Bodziak Thomsen. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Dorothy E. (Craig) Thomsen and his son, Craig P. Thomsen.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 7-9PM at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, with a religious service at 8:00 PM. Cremation will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the LH Fire Co. #1 or LH Community Covenant Church.
