I spent many days in the Whelan household as a child. I always loved listening to Mr. Whelans tales about Ireland and enjoyed his jovial spirit. He didn't have an easy life, but he definitely made the best of it! I will remember him fondly, as will my brother and parents. Sending much love to the family during this difficult time. Please let me know if there's anything you need. xoxo

Gerard, my younger brother was a happy go lucky guy, always in good spirits. Even throughout his illness and painful recovery he found humor, laughter and a healthy outlook on life.
He was always positive and spoke only well of everyone he knew.
We usually met at Dunkin Donuts whenever I came to visit and Gerard would have his two donuts and tea.
He always had an interesting story about local politicians, police and a recent tale about one of his loving granddaughters.
Im going to miss our get togeathers and cherish his parting words love you bro
