Gloria Christine Weyman Lynn of Milltown passed away peacefully at St. Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick with her family by her side. Born in Raritan (now Edison), she lived in Milltown and recently moved to Sunrise Assisted Living in East Brunswick where she enjoyed time with many friends. Gloria worked in many capacities over the years, initially at the luncheonette counter of Woolworth's, then at Bristol Myers Squibb as a medical technologist. She married Dr. Charles Lynn, Sr. and went on to study dental hygiene and radiology to work alongside him from 1954 to 1992. Gloria enjoyed dancing and tried out for the famous Radio City Rockettes, she also played basketball, was an expert marks woman, as well as a lifetime member of the NRA. She was a member of the Eastern Star, active also in local politics in the Middlesex County Democratic Party. She and Doctor Lynn, Sr. enjoyed skiing together and made a vacation home in Pico, VT where they were part owners of the ski area from 1966 to 1998. They raised many dogs over the years, especially Siberian Huskies. She was an avid reader of mysteries. Gloria and her husband were renowned gardeners and lovingly shared their produce and flowers with others. She relaxed at the shore; Beacon Beach, Cape May and Florida were her favorite spots.
She is predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Dr. Charles A. Lynn, Sr.; her grandson, Nicholas Charles Lynn was stillborn in 1996; and her daughter, Barbara Anne "Lynn" Hrapsky; she is survived by her sons, Dr. Charles A. Lynn, Jr. and his wife Joanie and their children, Kris Lynn and Mary (Lynn) Guinee and her husband Luke, and Gloria's youngest son, John W. Lynn an electrician with Corbin Electric for 27 years and his partner Loretta Hall; and granddaughters, Beth Ann Lynn, Megan (Lynn) Hoffman and her husband Daryl and Amber Lynn. Also survived by seven great-grandchildren, Michael, Destiny, Austin, Bella, Markiah, Jacob, Mikaela; and dear family friend, Miss Lorraine Daniels; and cousins, Johanna Van Baalen, Betsy McEwen; niece, Michelle and her husband Robert Pellechia; niece, Wendy; nephew, John Kapitan and his wife Lisa and their family; nephew, James Kapitan and his wife Darlene; niece, June (Kapitan) and family; niece, Dr. Carolyn Ilnicki and her family; nephew, Dr. Bill Schroeder and wife Cindy. There are many fond memories of time spent at the Chalet and at the Lake in Vermont together over the years.
The family will receive friends Sunday 6pm to 9pm at the Bronson & Guthlein Funeral Home of Milltown. Funerals services, Monday 10am at the funeral home.
