James Davis Obituary

James L. Davis

AGE: 85 • Bridgewater

James L. Davis (Arton L. Roark), 85, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2013. Born in Helen, West Virginia, he formerly resided in Bridgewater, NJ before moving to Hernando, MS and then back to Bridgewater a year ago. Mr. Davis retired in 1991, after fifteen years as a Supervisor of shipping and receiving for Research-Cottrell in Middlesex and then Reagent Chemicals. James was an avid deer and turkey hunter who also enjoyed fishing. He enjoyed going to and watching NASCAR; and restoring houses and cars. James cherished spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lorraine M. Kusch Davis, September, 2012; his parents, Roy R. Roark and Bonnie Blevins Roark; his four brothers, Bruce, Jessie (Kenneth), Ernest, and Roy, Jr.; and two sisters, Freida Roark and Natala Vollmer. Surviving are his loving children, Sharon Davis of Baltimore, MD, Christine (Michael) Kasas of Pickerington, OH, Joyce (Phillip, Jr.) Castagna of Bridgewater, NJ, Russell (Patricia) Davis of Nazareth, PA, and Phyllis (Steve) DeFranks of Bel Air, MD; twelve grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and his sister, Betty (Joe) Rylant.

Viewing hours will be held on Monday, October, 7, 2013 from 10 AM to 12 PM at Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 US Highway 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876 (908) 526-7638 with a Prayer Service to begin at 12 PM. Memorial contributions may be made in James' memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. www.BranchburgFuneralHome.com
