JAMES VERNILLO, JR.
AGE: 40 PORT READING
James Vernillo Jr., 40, of Port Reading passed away Monday, Nov. 8, 2010 at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Edison, Jim was a lifelong resident of Port Reading. He was employed by Rutgers University in New Brunswick as a computer engineer for the past twenty years. He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, Port Reading. He was a member of the Port Reading Volunteer Fire Department, ex-chief in 1999, and current assistant chief.
He is predeceased by his parents, James and Helen Vernillo. He is survived by his wife of five years, Heather Vernillo; his two daughters, Gabrielle Paige Vernillo, Gianna Marie Vernillo; a sister, Lisa Carnes and her husband, James of Georgia.
Funeral services will be held Friday, 9:30 am at the Chubenko Funeral Home, 625 Port Reading Ave. Port Reading followed by a 10:00am Mass of Christian Burial from St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, Port Reading followed by private cremation. Visitation will be Thursday, 2pm to 4pm & 7pm to 9pm at the funeral home. My deepest sympathies for the loss of a great man. Jim was always a very knowledgeable, helpful and a reliable coworker. As a fellow OIT staffer down at the Camden Campus, I only knew him through email, but he'll be sorely missed.

Jim was a great guy, I worked with him at Port Reading Fire Co #1. I was saddened to learn of his passing. The community will not be the same without him. My thoughts and prayers go out to Heather and the children.
