We remember Fr. Connor from Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Maplewood. My mother, brother and I worked at Bingo every Wednesday night, and Fr. Connor was there to make sure things ran smoothly. The 60s were turbulent times for the Catholic Church in general, but Father remained a good and faithful servant. We were sorry to see him leave for another assignment. He was gone from IHM but not forgotten. Rest in peace, Father.

Our sincere condolences to the family.

My husband and I were always happy when Fr. Jack said mass and gave the homily. His amazing insight, worldly wisdom, and deep knowledge of theology and the 'human condition' of our world were so refreshing when he spoke to us from the pulpit. He will be greatly missed at St. Barnabas.

Father Jack, my cousin on my Mom, MaryJane Nunn's side of the family, was a wonderful support to me and my son during a challenging time in my religious life. Although I did not see him often, I loved him and valued his counsel. I will miss him.

Reverend John F. Connor was a very close family friend, many times he would come over to our house on Headley Terrace in Irvington NJ for dinner. His close friends called him Jack, he was our priest at Immaculate Heart of Mary in Maplewood. I spent much time at his home in Bayville NJ fishing and boating. He will truly be missed. I will keep you in my prayers. Rest in Peace

I loved Fr. John. He was one of my favorite priests at St. Barnabas, and I loved his stories during the homily. He really loved his family, as he was always telling stories about them. He will truly be missed. Fr. John, thank you. May you truly rest in peace.

Jack Conner was a classmate at seminary. An extremely brilliant person and faithful priest. I definitely will remember Jack at Holy Mass prayers. May he see Our Lord face to face and receive the crown of glory for the 52 years he served God's people as a priest of Jesus Christ. Rest in peace dear friend.

I remember Father Connor from his 1st assignment @ Maplewood, when I was a teen. Tumultuous times for The Church... with priests leaving in droves. I recall my impression that he was a good man & good priest. Thanks for "staying the course... for running your race". RIP Father Connor.
