JOHN THOMAS ENCH
AGE: 14 OLD BRIDGE
John Thomas Ench, 14, died Friday, November 6, 2009 in Old Bridge. Born in New Brunswick, he was a lifelong Old Bridge resident. John was a freshman at St. John Vianney High School. He played Little League in Old Bridge, and planned to try out for St. John Vianney's baseball team in the spring. An avid NY Giants and NY Yankees fan, he loved golfing, especially with his grandfather. John was a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle RC Church, Old Bridge.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Thomas B. and Therese Howley. Surviving are his loving parents John and Mary Ellen Howley Ench; his brother Matthew; his paternal grandparents: Dolores and John Ench, Sr. of Marlboro; his aunts and uncles: Tom and Pat Howley, John and Eileen Howley and Marc and Andrea Ench; and his cousins: Thomas, Christopher, Brendan and Jenna Howley and Katie and Joe Howley.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 AM at St. Thomas Church, Old Bridge. Everyone is welcome to go directly to the church on Wednesday morning. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. Friends may call at The Brunswick Memorial Home, 454 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, on Tuesday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Hi John, I never knew you but 4 nights a week I drive a truck between Eatontown and Edison for about a year now. That first week I was out there on my return trip going south on Rt. 18 I noticed your memorial. Within a few nights I pulled over to read it and said a prayer. Ever since than every time I pass I say that prayer for you and your family and I ask you to watch over me and mine. I usually tell you to have a nice weekend on Thursday night and ask you how your weekend was on Sunday night. "Eternal rest grant on to John O Lord and may a perpetual light shine upon his soul. May his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace. Amen

I am so very sorry about your loss. Although I was in Salk when your son was in 8th grade, I never became friends with him. I am friends with one of John's old friends Jessica. hey johnny, you dont know me but your wonderfull mom has taken care of my daughter cassidy for a long time. im asking you to do me a favor and look after my daughter from up there, she can really use an angel like you. its christmas time and she has been in the hospital and is getting a lot of tests done so shes feeling a little down. she misses your mom a lot and wants to visit her soon we pray for her everyday. please be my babys angel we sure can use some help from heaven.

what can i say you were my best friend. when kevin told me i cried. i didn't believe it. first jackie now you. i never believed in the saying only the good die young. well now i do believe it. believe me i would do any thing if i can get you back. you were amazing & funny. At this confirmation thing they said your name and i still cried. i try not to but i can imagine how hard it is for your family.
God saw you were getting tired and cure was not to be. so he put his arm around you and whispered come to me. with tearful eyes we watched you and saw you pass away. although we loved you dearly we could not make you stay. golden heart stop beating hard working hands at rest. god broke are hearts to prove to us he only takes the best<3

The community of Old Bridge will never be the same. Even though you do not know everyone who is reaching out to you we want you to know how very much we love you and your family and we are praying for you to have strength at this horrific time in you lives. I have experienced pain in my life due to a loss. I will tell you the only way I got through...was to tell myself it was ok to grieve however, I gave myself a time line and then told myself after that I would remember the love we had on earth and that soon we will be together in heaven. There is not a day that I dont think of my lost love but it always brings a smile to my face when I do. Time is what you need.

As I sit typing this at my laptop, I am crying without control. I can recall you in LAL class always with that contagious smile and those sweet, innocent dimples that got you out of everything.

As a student at SJV High School, i know that all of the freshman class are in shock that this has happened to such a great guy. I know that I am speaking for all of the freshmen when I say that John will be truley missed by all of us here. John was an over all wonderful person. We all send our condolences here at SJV. My John rest easy up in heaven.

John was in my spanish class in SJV... i still can't believe he's gone. I've been crying all weekend and im in total shock. RIP class of '13 guadrian angel... yet another lancer lost </3 :'(
