John Paul Geier passed away on Sunday, March 17 in Altamonte Springs, Florida where he had resided for the past two years. Mr. Geier, age 96, was born on September 28, 1916 in Elizabeth, New Jersey and lived in Linden, Westfield, Toms River and Spring Lake Heights, New Jersey until his relocation to Florida in 2011. He was a decorated WWII U.S Army veteran having served as a Master Sergeant and First Lieutenant in the 361st Quartermaster Amphibian Battalion and seeing action in Northern Africa, Italy, the D-Day invasion of Normandy, France and the subsequent campaign to liberate Europe. After his discharge from the armed forces in 1945, Mr. Geier attended Seton Hall University and began a distinguished business career that included executive positions at Merck Pharmaceutical, The National State Bank of N.J., Airtron Electronics (Litton Industries), and Muhlenberg Hospital in Plainfield. After a brief retirement in the early 1980's, Mr. Geier returned to the health care field and was employed by Health Resources Publishing until retiring for good at age 91. While at The National State Bank of N.J. he met his future wife, Catherine (Kaye) Rose Regan. They were married from 1950 until her death in 1988.

The eldest son of Charles Geier and Elizabeth Dimmick, Mr. Geier was predeceased by his wife, Catherine Rose Regan, three older half-siblings from his father's first marriage -Valentine, Joseph, and Levina - and by his brother Gerard F.X. Geier. He is survived by his brother William Geier of Spring Lake Heights, New Jersey, Sister-in-law Delores Geier of Wall, New Jersey, as well as his son Mark Geier of Longwood, Florida with wife Cheryl and children Jacqueline, Caitlin and Charles and his daughter Janet Fleming of Howell, New Jersey with husband Robert and children Michael, Jennifer and Shannon.

A visitation will be held from 4 pm to 8 pm on Sunday, March 24th at O'Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Highway 35, Wall, NJ. A service for Mr. Geier will begin at the O'Brien Funeral Home at 10 am on Monday, March 25th followed by graveside service at 11:15 am burial alongside his wife at St. Catharine's Cemetery.
