John Hratko Obituary
AGE: 91 • Hillsborough
John Hratko, 91, died on November 2, 2012. He was born in Flemington, NJ on September 13, 1921 to his dear parents John and Mary Butkosky Hratko. John was a Foreman for Rhone Poulenc Chemical Company in New Brunswick, served in the Merchant Marines and the U.S. Army during World War II, a member of the Disabled Veterans (DAV), Manville VFW Post 2290, Hillsborough Senior Citizens Chapter A, and a communicant of St. Ann's Church in Raritan. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a wonderful grandfather who was an extraordinary baker and pie maker, loved history and carpentry work. John was a kind, caring, generous person, and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
John is survived by his beloved wife, Antoinette Hratko of 64 years; his loving children, Dr. John Hratko and his wife Nancy of Nazareth, PA, Cindi Hratko of Robbinsville, NJ, Anne Coyne and her husband Tom of New Vernon, NJ, Mari Andreas and her husband Joe of Annandale, NJ; eight wonderful grandchildren, Natalie, Melanie, Analiese Hratko, Thomas, Katie, John Coyne, Mady and David Andreas. He was predeceased by his parents; his sister, Margaret Giraldi; and his brother, William Hratko.
Viewing will be held on Friday, November 9, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Bongiovi Funeral Home, 416 Bell Avenue, Raritan, NJ 08869 (908-725-1887). Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2012 starting with a viewing from 8:30 to 9:30 am at the funeral home followed by a 10:15 am Mass at St. Ann's Church, 45 Anderson Street, Raritan, NJ 08869, (908-725-1887). Burial in St. Bernard's Cemetery, Bridgewater, NJ 08807. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
