JOHN J. MCCAULEY
AGE: 93
LAURENCE HARBOR
John J. McCauley, 93, of Laurence Harbor, passed away, Tuesday, November 16, 2010, at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge. He was born in Newark. He was a bus driver with the NJ Transit, Elizabeth for 33 years, retiring in 1979. He was a parishioner with St. Lawrence RC Church, Laurence Harbor; a member of the Laurence Harbor Knights of Columbus; the St. Lawrence Altar Rosary; the Laurence Harbor Democratic Club and past president; and the Laurence Harbor Seniors. In the 1960's, he was an umpire, coach and past president for the Laurence Harbor Little League team.
John was predeceased by his beloved wife of 57 years, Ruth Wehrle McCauley in 1993; a brother, Raymond McCauley; two daughter-in-laws, Anna McCauley and Kunie McCauley; and a son-in-law, Robert Miller. He is survived by his loving children, Thomas McCauley and his wife, Christine of Laurence Harbor; Denise Scala and her husband, Daniel of Laurence Harbor; John McCauley of Willingboro; Robert McCauley and his wife, Dixie of Bayville; Catherine Miller of Laurence Harbor; and Richard McCauley and his wife, Barbara of Cliffwood Beach; a dear sister, Jane Hoeger of Binghamton, NY; and a special companion of 15 years, Mary Butula of Laurence Harbor; 18 cherished grandchildren; 20 precious great grandchildren and three precious great great grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited Sunday, 2-4 & 7-9PM at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport; and Monday, 8AM at the funeral home, with a 9AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Lawrence RC Church, Laurence Harbor.
