John D. Stavola

John D. Stavola, 91 of Ambler, PA died Friday August 11th at his home.

He lived in Sayreville, New Brunswick, Jamesburg and Monroe Township before moving to Ambler in May.

Mr. Stavola was employed for 15 years as a truck driver for the Bunzl Corp., South Brunswick, retiring in 1988.

He was a corporal in the Army during World War II, serving in the European Theater.

He was a life member of Knights of Columbus Council #257, New Brunswick, a life member of VFW Post #262, Monroe Township and an honorary life member of American Legion Joyce Kilmer Post #25, Milltown.

Mr. Stavola was predeceased by his wife Marie Saccente Stavola in 2014, his brother Anthony and his sister Jennie.

Surviving are his two sons John and his wife Amy of Iselin and James and his wife Linda of East Brunswick, his two daughters Janet Subacus and her husband John of Ambler, PA and Maryann Stavola of Monroe Township, ten grandchildren and twenty four great grandchildren.

Services will begin 9 a.m. Friday at the Lester Memorial Home 16 W. Church St., Jamesburg followed by a 9:30 a.m. funeral liturgy at St. James RC Church, Jamesburg.

Burial will be in the NJ Veterans Cemetery, Wrightstown.

Visiting hours for family and friends will be Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Friday 8-9 a.m. at the funeral home.
