John F. Zipp, of Jackson, formerly of West Orange, passed away at home on Sunday, April 14, 2013, surrounded by members of his loving family. Born on Jan. 11,1925 in South Ozone Park, New York, John was the son of the late Frederick and Angelina (Aloia) Carocci.

He left high school to serve his country in World War II joining the U.S. Army. After serving his country as a Staff Sergeant and paratrooper in the 82nd and 101st Airborne, he returned to complete West Orange High School and continued his education, graduating from Seton Hall University in 1950.

John was a kind, gentle, soft-spoken, understanding man who loved his family, music, cars, camping, story-telling, and creating memories in the garage. He was happiest when surrounded by family and friends, especially when he was teaching a new song to his children/grandchildren.
