Joseph A. Blash, 85, of Gouldsboro, PA, and formerly of Woodbridge Township, NJ, died Friday at the Linwood Nursing Center in Scranton following a lengthy illness. His wife of 65 years is the former Dorothy D. Mooney.

Joseph was born October 21, 1930 in Marlin, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Blash. Prior to his retirement, Joseph was employed as a Precision Sheet Metal Mechanic, and plant manager for several manufacturers in New Jersey. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council # 5088 of Avenel, NJ, where he served as Grand Knight. He was presently a member of Knights of Columbus Council # 6050 of Moscow, PA, and was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Church of Moscow.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his sons: Richard Blash and wife Gwen of Belleville, NJ, Christopher Blash and wife Ann Marie of Avenel, NJ and Rodney "Rod" Blash of Annandale, NJ; (6) grandchildren and (2) great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters Josephine Pleva and Agnes Kwasnieski; and his brothers Edward, Anthony and Frank Blash. He was also preceded in death by a baby granddaughter Carissa Ann Blash, and grandson Matthew Blash

A Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 10:00 am at St. Catherine of Siena Church 220 Church Street Moscow, PA. Entombment will be conducted at St. Gertrude's Cemetery in Colonia, NJ Friends may call on Monday from 3-7 pm in Duffy & Snowdon Funeral Home 401 Church Street Moscow, PA.
