Julius Freitag Obituary
Toms River - Julius Freitag, 75, passed away on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at Haven Hospice located within JFK Medical Center in Edison.
He was born in Newark, NJ; he grew up on the North Side and graduated from Bloomfield Technical School in 1960. He later resided in South Plainfield for many years before moving to Seaside Park in 2000 and settling to Toms River in 2010.
Employed at the ExxonMobil Plant in Edison as a Chemical Engineer, Julius retired and later worked as a school bus driver in Ocean County.
He loved to be with family and friends, spending time alongside his wife and was heartbroken at the loss of his beloved wife, Eileen Patricia (Butler) Freitag who died in February of this year.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lillian Freitag(nee Angrisani)
Julius leaves behind his son and daughter in law, Jason and Christine Culver of South Plainfield, three grandchildren which he adored; Kirsten, Samantha and Justin, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and dear friends.
Visitation will be held in McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 on Sunday, August 26, 2018 from 4-8 pm and on Monday, August 27, 2018 beginning 8:45 am. Funeral services will begin at 9:15 am in the funeral home on Monday, August 27, 2018 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of the Sacred Heart in South Plainfield at 10:00 AM.
Julius will be laid to rest with his wife at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia.
