Michael Kranowski Obituary
AGE: 60 • North Brunswick
Michael Joseph Kranowski entered into eternal life in Heaven on Sunday, May 12, 2013, at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch. He was 60 years of age. Born in New Brunswick, he was a lifelong North Brunswick resident. He was the owner of a local landscaping business for over 20 years, and attended Rutgers University. Michael was a communicant of Sacred Heart R.C. Church in New Brunswick, and also recently enjoyed services at Georges Road Baptist Church in North Brunswick. He was an award winning master gardener and a talented landscaper. Michael cultivated blue ribbon flowers from seed, and cross- bred Dalia tubers by hand to achieve spectacular color combinations. He was a member of the Rutgers Horticultural Society. He happily shared his vast horticultural knowledge with all, and brought beauty to everything he touched. Larger than life itself, Michael was an avid and spirited fisherman and photographer, Jets fan, and an outdoors enthusiast. He proudly recently participated in the reenactment of the Battle of Princeton, dressed in full Revolutionary War attire, and enjoyed researching the Revolutionary War, especially local details. He was a member of the American Historical Society.
Michael is predeceased by his parents, Joseph Charles and Rosella (Stotlak) Kranowski. Surviving are his wife of 12 years, Darleen (Crofford) Kranowski; his sisters, Donna Warters of East Brunswick and Regina Mayell and her husband Rick of Holmdel; his brothers, Thomas Kranowski of New Brunswick and Joseph Kranowski of Jackson. "Uncle Mike" absolutely adored his nieces and nephew and loved them as his own. He delighted in surprising them with humorous and unexpected surprises. They are Anne Lynn Kranowski -Grimmer, Elizabeth, Mary, Dana and Luke Mayell, Joelle and Morgan Kranowski, Brianna Gonzalez, Kimberly Crofford, Kelly Vasquez, and Rosanna Grimmer. He was showered with unconditional love by his constant companion, his dog Molly. His mother-in-law is Marge Crofford of Iselin.
Funeral services will be held at 9:15 AM on Friday from Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick followed by a 10:00 AM Mass at Sacred Heart Church in New Brunswick. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in North Brunswick. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. Memorial contributions in Michael's name may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 740 Broad Street, Suite 4, Shrewsbury, NJ 07702.

Our condolences on your loss to Mike's family and friends. We will miss our friend Mike who we met when we moved into North Brunswick - he was a pleasure to know and work with and a treasure to talk to about anything. He loved nurturing plants, lawns, bushes & flowers, and sharing the joys of his fishing and other special experiences at the Jersey Shore. God Bless you Mike.
