On behalf of all past, present and future umpires of the New Jersey State Federation of Umpires. Mickey was a large part of all of us, whether or we knew him personally or not. Without Mickey and what he brought to the table: the knowledge, leadership and guidance; we would not be the umpires that we are today. Thank you, Mickey! A true umpire.

Mickey's Family.
I feel your loss. Mickey always made me laugh. He is my mothers cousin and Kathy worked at SWMHS H.S. where I had the privilage to know her very well. Mickey will always hold a special place in my heart. It seemed like where ever I played Baseball, he was there. Mickey inspired me to become a H.S. and Little League Umpire, simply it was a way to give back to the community and provide young people the opportunity to participate in a sport that would not be available except for the sacarifce that we, the umpires make, being away from our familys so someone elses child can "Play Ball". Mickey is and was one of my favorite uncles and always will be. I know he will be looking over my shoulder at every ball game I work telling me, "You miss that one" in his sarcastic, re-assuring voice. I will miss him very much, but he also gave me so much to remember him by.
My sincer condolences to all of you.

We celebrate a great man and great uncle. He was a military hero to whom we owe so much and a personal hero to all who had the benefit of knowing him. He was loving, humble, generous, kind - always looking to give, serve, and love. He was a shining example to this world of what we should aspire to become - a person of stellar character and disposition who exuded goodness.

Thank you, Uncle Mickey. We love you and miss you.

Wow....what a man..what a legend. It's peope like Mickey that make communities rise up and inspire them to do better. He wad admired, respected and so loved. His contributions could never be consolidated.....it would have to be a "book"...and a riveting one at that. The loss is great and hopefully an inspiration to those he inspired to carry on with the tradition of great service. Condolences to his family and friends and all that were affected by his life....that list is very long. Rest in peace, Sir.
With respect, kindness & love,
The Kane Family
and Kudos to the donations for the BIC..keeping it going an paying it forward....Still contributing even in in blessed eternal life....quite a gem!

Mickey was a great guy with a love of baseball and kids who leaves behind a legacy of the thousands of kids lives he touched through the recreation program. I have fond memories of Mickey from my involvement in Sayreville Recreation and the Sayreville B.I.C. organization. I was surprised (although not really) by his distinguished war record. He was a truly humble and giving man. I last saw Mickey a year and a half ago at a High School Hall of Fame ceremony and he remembered me (one of many thousands of kids in his programs) after 40 years. None of us will ever forget him. My condolences to Mickey's family. We've all lost one of Sayreville's greats and a truly nice and kind man.

We have lost a wonderful family member. I remember going on trips from TN to NJ as a kid and Uncle Mickey always made sure that we kids had more sports toys than we could possibly need! Everytime we'd see him, he'd take us over to his car, open it up and pull out all kinds of stuff! But better than the stuff, he'd head out to the field with us and teach us how to play! Although I only had the privilege to be with Uncle Mickey a few times, I have used his teaching through my entire life! Not just the athletic but more important the care and concern for people! What an amazing man, an honor to be his nephew!

Thoughts and prayers,
