Michael Vaughn Obituary
Keyport - Michael William Vaughn, 23, formally of Keyport NJ, passed away on Saturday March 17, 2018 at his home in Union Beach NJ. He was born on August 30, 1994 to William and Laura Vaughn in Long branch, NJ. He was a member of The American Celts, a pipe and drum band out of Keyport, NJ. When Michael was 16, he joined the Union Beach Fire Cadet Program and later became a member of the Union Beach Fire Department at the age 18. He also went on to serve as a lieutenant of both the Keyport Fire Patrol and of the Union Beach First Aid Squad. He had recently joined the New Jersey State Forest Fire Services. Michael is survived by his parents William and Laura Vaughn, as well as his brother, James Vaughn. Services were private under the directions of the Waitt Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Michael was a special loving young man. He was bright, focussed and always tried to do his best in school. I had the privilege of being Michael's fourth grade teacher and later served as the librarian. I was always delighted to see his cheerful, friendly smile and he was a favorite with me. His positive interested nature and easygoing attitude made him so very likeable. I was deeply saddened to learn of his passing and want to express my sympathy to his wonderful parents and brother, James. My prayers to Michael and his family. Sincerely, Jeanette Kondek
