Patricia Hyland Obituary
PATRICIA A. HYLAND
AGE: 85 MONROE
Patricia A. Hyland, 85, passed away Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009 at her residence. Born in Bronx, NY, she resided there before moving to South River and settled in Monroe Twp. six years ago. She was a graduate of Cathedral High School in Manhattan and then went on to Hunter College where she earned her BA, and continued her education at Rutgers University, where she earned her M.Ed., plus 30 additional credits. Patricia dedicated her life to her family and her teaching career that lasted over 40 years. She taught at PS 71 in the Bronx, and then retired after teaching at William Campbell School in South River. She was active with the Caring Listeners at Corpus Christi Church, and was on the Board of Directors for Calico Cat School at Holy Trinity Church. She was a former communicant of Corpus Christi Church in South River, and a current member of Nativity of Our Lord Church in Monroe Twp.
She was predeceased by her husband, James F. Hyland who passed away in 1991. She is survived by her four sons, James F. of East Brunswick, John J. of Fairfax, VA, Joseph M. of South River and Thomas G. of Westfield; her four daughters, Eileen M. Rosen of Southwick, UK, Patricia A. Hyland of South River, Mary E. Gall of Belle Mead, and Kathleen E. Hyland of Monmouth Junction; her sister, Eileen Bell of West Windsor and eleven grandchildren, James, Joseph, Sarah, Sean Gall, Natalie Burak, James and Elizabeth Hyland, Catherine Hyland, and Bridget, Maura, and Thomas, Jr. Hyland.
A mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, Nov. 5, at 10:00 a.m. at Nativity of Our Lord Church in Monroe Twp. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Burial Park in South Brunswick. Calling hours will be Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Rezem Funeral Home, 457 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Judes Pl, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
