Paul Newman Obituary
AGE: 56 • Red Bank
Paul David Newman, 56, of Red Bank, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, as a result of his four year battle with early onset Alzheimer's Disease. Paul was a graduate of Tampa University, FL where he received his Master's Degree in Business and English. He was a member of Faith In Action Caregivers Program in Lee County, FL. He was also a member of the LARC Program (a program for disabled adults), also in Lee County, FL. Paul was an operational executive for assisted living facilities throughout Florida for twenty plus years. He pioneered state of the art Alzheimer's wings.
Paul loved playing tennis, his Labradors, dog training, playing the drums, going to the beach and cooking. Instead of wallowing in bitterness and anxiety, he decided to write a book that documented his early journey into Alzheimer's disease called "A Cruel Twist of Fate". He hoped to make people laugh through their tears to make people aware that this was just not an "old person's disease."
Paul is survived by his wife of 28 years, Jill Jaime Kulch Newman; his brothers, Stephen Robertshaw, Derry, NH, Robert Stritch, Wayne, Christopher Sorge, Westfield, Keven Kulch, Perth Amboy, Michael Newman, Matawan, and Vic Newman, Millstone; sisters, Kristan Kulch Robertshaw, Derry, NH, Jaclyn Kulch Flatley, Roselle Park, Gina Kulch Stritch, Wayne, and Sheryl Newman, Washington Boro; nephews, Drew Flatley, Jersey City, Ryan Flatley, Roselle Park, and Patrick Robertshaw, Derry, NH; nieces and nephews, Danny and Heather Newman, Kayla, Tyler, and Jake Newman and Susan and Francie Ten Eyck and his dogs, Layla and Conyer Detroit.
All services are private at the request of the family. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations in Paul's name to Home Free Animal Rescue, 32 White St., Red Bank, NJ 07701. Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank, was entrusted with his arrangements.

Paul has left an amazing legacy here on earth. Although I never met him, I feel like I have, through beautiful stories that Jill has shared. Jill, I am so sorry that you have to endure pain and loss. Paul will always be with you, and will always be in your heart.

I remember the day we met, you actually hired me as the DON at Heron House 7+ years ago. I am still there. Thank you for your vision in establishing our memory care units. You helped so many people you never even met. You asked me during our interview what it took to get 110% out of me, I said only peanut M&M's. You always brought me a bag when you came down. God bless, rest in peace. I hope you are proud of what we have done.

I am so very sorry and my heart aches for you. I truly feel your pain and when I read this yesterday I cried.
You don't know me, however my husband who is also 56 is a patient of Dr. Ross's. I read the Star-Ledger articles last year, and after reading your story I immediately thought of my marriage to my husband. We were childhood sweathearts, and next month marks my 32 years of marriage. My husband was diagnosted two years ago. Since the diagnoses I am not the same person and I fear the future.
One day when you are feeling better I would love to speak with you and meet you. I admire you and only hope I can be as strong. I hope one day we can speak, however this is your decision. I am only going to use my first name as I still don't share this with many people.
May Paul rest in peace, and my sincere wishes for your future.

Jill, family and friends of Paul. I am so sorry that this courageous man's candle was snuffed out way too early!! He put up one heck of a fight with his loyal wife by his side.
