René Daniel "Turk" Reuse

René Daniel "Turk" Reuse, 94, passed away at home October 17, 2016. Born in Milltown to Daniel and Marcelle Letondu Reuse he was one of the few people left who attended the Michelin French School in Milltown.

He married Mary Feaster of Highland Park in 1947 and moved to South River. He passed away a few days before the 69th anniversary of their wedding. He worked 45 years as a mechanic for Permacel, retiring in 1986.

René was a member of the United Methodist Church and a life member of Post #25 American Legion. He worked Legion Bingo for many years and at Rutgers concession stands for his church. He was a member of the South River Office on aging and served on the Mayor's Council on Aging. He was honored to be the grand marshal of the town's Memorial Day parade. During World War II he served in Manduria, Italy with the Army Air Force's 450th Bomb Group, the Cottontail Liberators. René enjoyed a trip to France for a family wedding in Tours in 2006. He toured the Loire Valley, and traveled to Switzerland, meeting some relatives for the first time.

"Turk" was a friend to all, with a ready smile and the ability to meet someone he knew absolutely anywhere. He was Mr. Fix-It, always quickly repairing things for family and friends. René is predeceased by his parents and his beloved wife Mary. He is greatly missed by his surviving family: daughter Mary Ann and her husband Joe of Milltown; daughter Peggy of Lavallette; daughter Beth of Oradell; son Richard and his wife Alison of Midlothian, VA; cherished grandchildren, Kristin Bubnis and her fiancé Marc Levenson of Shrewsbury, Mark Bubnis and girlfriend Gia Fusco of NYC, Laura Guzman and her husband Ramon of East Windsor, Krista Reuse and her fiancé Patrick Adams of Richmond, VA, and Ethan Reuse and girlfriend Emma King of Midlothian, VA; his sister Yvonne Brooks of Newton, his sisters-in-law Betty Nemeth of Monroe Township and Shirley Feaster of Centennial Colorado, and his good dog Mia. The family will receive friends 3 - 7 p.m. at the Bronson & Guthlein Funeral Home, 152 N. Main St., Milltown, NJ, Friday, Oct. 21. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22 at the funeral home, followed by burial at Holy Cross Cemetery in East Brunswick.
