ROBERT ROIG
AGE: 59 FORMERLY OF SOUTH RIVER
Robert Roig, 59, of Punta Gorda, Fla., formerly of Cape Coral, Fla., died after a brief illness on Monday, May 31, 2010, at Hope Hospice, Cape Coral, Fla. He was born Sept. 2, 1950 in New Brunswick and a child of Anthony M. and Margaret T. (Maklary) Roig. Bob lived in Punta Gorda for the past two years and formerly lived in Cape Coral for 16 years, moving there from South River and Forked River. He graduated in 1968 from South River High School. He was employed for the past five years by the Lee County Port Authority at the Southwest Regional Int'l. Airport, Fort Myers as a crew chief for the maintenance department. He was also a member of Carpenter's Local Union 1006, Milltown.
He is survived by his sister, Susan M. (Roig) Gillish and her husband, Ricky of Punta Gorda, Fla. He was predeceased by his brother, Anthony "Butch" Roig.
Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation in Bob's name may be sent to Hope Hospice, 9470 HealthPark Circle, Ft. Myers, FL 33908. Friends and family may sign the guest book at www.horizonfunerals.com.
