ROGER J. FURBEE
AGE: 69 MIDDLESEX
Roger Furbee, 69, passed away peacefully at home in the company of his loving family on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009. Born in Cleveland, OH, he resided in Oxford, OH before moving to Middlesex. Mr. Furbee attended St. Edward High School and John Carroll University before earning his Masters Degree in Microbiology at Ohio University. He then was a Professor of Microbiology at Middlesex County College, Edison for 30 years before retiring in 2000. He enjoyed reading and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be sadly missed by his family, friends and all who knew him. His special joy was spending time with his grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his son, Christopher in October, 2009. Surviving are his beloved wife of 44 years, Ruth Bordine Furbee, a son Todd Furbee and wife, Terry of Somerset, two grandchildren, Sean and Jason Furbee, two sisters, Linda Furbee of Fairview Park, OH and Mary Beth Pavia of Alpharetta, GA, and his daughter-in-law, Lucia Furbee of Haddon Heights, NJ.
At Roger's request, there will be no services and funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Rd., Middlesex, NJ 08846. Private burial will take place at a later date in Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Steeple Chase Cancer Center, 30 Rehill Ave., Somerville, NJ 08876. Dear Ruth,
I was very sorry to hear the news of the death of your husband and son. We never know what God has in store for us but he does give us the strength to go through what ever it is. My prayers are with you and your family during this very difficult time. Your children and especially your grandchildren will also help you work through the sadness of these deaths!!!
