Sharon A Cook

AGE: 69 • Freehold Township

Sharon A. Cook, 69, of Freehold Township died Friday, October 9, 2015 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. and had lived in Queens, N.Y. before moving to Freehold in 1979. Sharon was a graduate of John Adams High School, Queens. She was a credit and collections manager for McGraw Hill Company, Hightstown before her retirement. She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold and a former communicant of St. Theresa of Avila R. C. Church, Queens. Sharon was a past president of the Marshall Erickson School PTO and an active member of the Freehold Soccer League and Freehold Soccer Tournament.

She loved her family and grandchildren and would "give you the shirt off her back." Surviving are her husband, George H. Cook; two sons and daughters -in-law, Brian and Leanne Cook and Peter and Jennie Cook; a daughter, Debra Cook; a sister, Barbara Oliver; four grandchildren, Abigail, Tess, Logan, and Brody; and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting will be held a the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Sunday and Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold on Tuesday at noon. Memorial donations to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.

George, Was so sorry to hear about your wife. I always asked about her and how she was doing with her Cancer. So many years she was cancer free and this has to happen. So sorry to hear about Sharon's death. She was a great woman who I'm sure gave her all to her famiy amend especially to her children. That's the kind of person she was. The good times we had at the "parish hall" will be fondly remembered. Sharon was always willing to help wherever and whoever needed it. May you all carry her in your hearts always and she will alWays be with you.

Dear Mr. Cook and Family: My deepest sympathy to you and your family. Mrs. Cook was such a wonderful person. My mom and dad are heartbroken. Mrs. Cook always looked out for my parents, for which I will always be grateful. I know she loved Mr. Cook, her children and grandchildren so very much.
