Steve was a great person, I'll never forget our freshman year of football he was always the guy I followed up the field. Wonderful basketball NBA on saturdays. Very sadly missed.

Steven was my cousin, and i loved him. He fought a long, difficult battle against this horrible disease and now is at peace and no longer in pain. Carol and Frank, you know how much i love you both and my heart is broken for you,...no words can express the pain I feel in my heart when I look into your faces and see how sad you both are over losing Steve. Both Carol and Frank have always been there for me whenever I have problems and have helped me through so much, now it's my turn to try to be there to help comfort them and help them get through this difficult time...Carol, you are more than just my cousin, you are a sister to me and I love you so much and wish I could take away the pain, but only time and the faces of those four beautiful grandchildren that Steven gave you will be able to do that....

Krysten and John:

Krysten, I wish there was something I could do or say, I'm your Godmother and I feel like I should be able to do something to help make things better, but you've been a rock for your mom, dad and Colleen and I am so proud of you....John, I know Steve was more of a brother to you than just a brother-in-law, and you were always there for him both emotionally and with arranging various fund raisers through the fire department to help Colleen and Steve any way you could. Everything you have done to help your family is wonderful...nothing more you can do now except be there to help Krysten and everyone get through the difficult next days/weeks/months/years....I love you for all that you've done and for being Krysten's rock.

Arlene and Jim:

Arlene, I know how hard it has been for you while Steve has been ill,...living far from home must have been so difficult because I know in your heart you wanted to be closer, but I know that you were always there for your mom, dad, Steve and Colleen through phone calls and visits whenever you were able,...I know how much you loved Steve and only time will help ease the pain...

Colleen:

I don't know you very well, we've only met a few times, but I know Steven loved you so much and you took great care of him all during his illness....The one thing I remember the most, and one of my favorite memories of Steve, is seeing his face beaming and that big 'ol smile of his before he entered the church when you were getting married....He was so bubbly and happy and this is the way I always want to remember him. He loved you so much and I know this has been such a terrible thing for you to have to go through....The only thing that will help you get through are the faces of those three beautiful little girls and that little boy TJ who will live on to be Steven's legacy....Thank you so much for being such a great wife and mother to my cousin Steven's children...I may not know you all that well, but I know you made Steve's last few years some of the happiest in his life, and for that I am so thankful...Everyone will tell the girls and TJ lots of different stories and memories about their daddy that will remain with them forever...Time will ease some of the pain you are feeling right now, but you will never forget him and I am so happy he had you in his life...Be strong sweetie,...I know you have been....those four little ones will help you get through, as will all our family and yours. We love you...

Tomorrow I will be there to honor my cousin Steve Runyon,...a great cousin, a loving son, husband and a wonderful father to his four beautiful children. This is not goodbye Steven...this is just "so long for now." We will see you once again in Heaven. I know you are no longer in pain and are at peace...held in the loving arms of GOD and all the angels. You passed on my Uncle Steve's (your grandfather) birthday....that has to mean something sweetie....You were his namesake and he took you from all the pain and suffering you were going through to take you home to Heaven where you are happy once again. We will always miss you and never forget you...and we have four beautiful little children to always help us remember....

Rest in peace my dear Steven....I love you and will miss you until we all see you again....God Bless....
