Veronica Mezzino

AGE: 98 • Morris Plains

Veronica (Negri) Mezzino passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2014 at Morris View Nursing Home in Morris Plains, NJ after a short illness. She was 98 years old. Born in Morristown, NJ to the late Antoinette and Dominick Negri, Veronica resided in Morris Plains, NJ for 64 years. Veronica worked as a Clerk for the International Paper Company for 10 years, and the Morristown Credit Bureau for 25 years before she retired. Veronica graduated from Bayley Ellard High School in 1933. She was a member of St. Virgil's Church in Morris Plains, where she belonged to the St. Gerard Society and Prime Time. She was also a member of the Morris Plains Senior Citizens, and was a volunteer at Morris View Nursing Home for 15 years.

Veronica is survived by her devoted children, Linda McGrady and her husband Patrick, and Thomas Mezzino. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Amy McGrady, Joseph McGrady and his wife Heather, and Matthew McGrady, as well as her great-grandson, William; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Veronica was predeceased by her loving husband, Alfred Mezzino, in 1978, and her beloved siblings, Anthony and Dominick Negri, sister-in-law, Ann Negri, and sister, Irene Sagarese and her husband Alfred.

Visiting will be on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Dangler Funeral Home, 600 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at 10:30am at St. Virgil's Church, 250 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains. Interment will follow at Holy Rood Cemetery, Morris Township. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Veronica can be made to: St. Virgil's Church, 250 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains, NJ 07950.

We just heard about the passing of Aunt Vee and send you are condolence's. We have been living in Florida for the past two-and-a-half years, or we would have been at the funeral. We cherish her memory and will remember all the wonderful times are family had growing up.
