AGE: 84 • Hazlet

Victor Julio, 84 of Hazlet, NJ, died Thursday, August 2, 2012 surrounded by his loving family and friends.

He was born June 15, 1928 in Carteret, lived in Rahway before moving to Hazlet. Vic proudly served in the Merchant Marines during WWII from 12/7/1941 to 8/15/1945. After being Honorably Discharge Vic began a life long career at Merck Pharmacuticals in Rahwah, NJ. Starting as a pipefitter and leaving as the Chief Fire Inspector. Vic also held onto a long term position as Chief Stewart of the OCAW local - 8-575. After over 45 years Vic retired and enjoyed fishing, Crabbing and Card Playing. He remained very active doing so many of the things he loved to do. He will be greatly missed by so many of his family members and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his Daughter April Gareis.

Surviving are his loving wife Rita Julio, Son Victor Julio, 3 Daughter Donna Smith, Erin Kozak and Lisa Maskevich, Daughter-in-Law, Starr Julio, 7 Grandchildren & 4 Great Grandchildren.

Friends will be received 2-4 & 7-9 P.M., Monday, August 6 at the Laurel Funeral Home, 201 Laurel Avenue West Keansburg, NJ 07734 with a Evening Service at 7:30pm

Pop you were always a wonderful part of my life,I was very blessed to have you.I,m certain I was the luckiest person in the world to have my Dad and you,two Father,s growing up.You certainly shocked us all by leaving so quickly,just know how much we love and miss you,it has only been four day,s and life is just not the same.Tomorrow is going to be so hard saying good bye to you for now,but we will meet again when the time come,s,please do not worry about Mom I will be sure to take care of her,you always told her that and I will keep your promise,love and miss you always and forever,Lisa

I'll miss you a lot pop!....we were always together when I was young..when you & meme would go on vacation I would always throw a fit. :) going crabbing then eating the crabs & making a mess & always digging in your food drool & all you didn't care...I love you very much & always will!...I know you aunt April & Grammy are looking over us all...I hate knowing I will not see you here, but I know one day I'll see you again...love you always "your ah" :)
