William D. "Bill" Everett Jr.

Bridgewater - 85, passed away June 8, 2021. Bill was born in Somerville to the late Bertha and William Everett Sr. He was raised in Somerville and was a long-time resident of Bridgewater. Bill was a 1958 graduate of Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving as first lieutenant during the early days of the space program at Cape Canaveral, Florida. In November 1959, he was awarded The Air Force Commendation Medal for Meritorious Service. Bill was employed for over 50 years, first as a financial accountant at Johnson & Johnson, retiring in 1993. He then joined DSE Healthcare Solutions (formerly Numark Labs). He retired from DSE in 2016.

Bill was a life-long member of the United Reformed Church in Somerville where he was a member of the Great Consistory, Vice President from 2010 to 2015, an elder, a deacon, and was recently retired from their Administration & Finance committee. He was also a member of the National Association of Accountants and the Alpha Chi Rho Social Fraternity. In his spare time, Bill enjoyed going to the beach in Manasquan and Amelia Island, Florida. He was an avid hearts and bridge player, a golfer, and enjoyed cherished family gatherings, especially his grandson's soccer games. Bill relished travel, visiting Europe, the Western United States and Hawaii several times each. A devoted family man, Bill will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.

He is predeceased by his three brothers Robert, Richard, and James Everett.

Surviving is his wife of 63 years Ellen E. Everett, four daughters Caryl Everett, Joyce Everett, Linda Dacanay (Allan), and Nancy Poignant (Robert), a brother Roger Everett, three sisters Joan Lovingood, Mary Robbins, Cathleen Dewyea, three grandchildren Katherine, Thomas, and Ryan, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11am Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at Bruce C. VanArsdale Funeral Home, 111 N. Gaston Ave, Somerville. Interment will follow at South Branch Reformed Church Cemetery in Hillsborough. Visitation will be 2-4pm and 6-8pm Monday, June 14, 2021, at the funeral home.
