WILLIAM F. "CHIP" WRIGHT
AGE: 82 NORTH BRUNSWICK
William F. "Chip" Wright, 82, died Monday Jan. 18, 2010, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. Born in New Brunswick, he was a lifelong resident of North Brunswick. He and his wife maintained a summer residence in Ocean Beach #1 in Lavallette for the past 19 years. Mr. Wright was a veteran of the US Navy, having served in Okinawa during World War II. A graduate of the Rutgers Business School for Municipal Registered Accountants, he had worked as the Chief Financial Officer for North Brunswick Township for 25 years before retiring in 1990. At the same time, he was the custodian of school funds for the North Brunswick Township Board of Education. He was a life member of North Brunswick Volunteer Engine Co. #1, and had served as Township Fire Chief from 1965-1966. He was a member of the NJ State Firemen's Association and the Milltown Lodge #294 F&AM.
Predeceased by his sister, Jeanne Wright Dorn, he is survived by his wife, Patricia Gourley Wright; two daughters and their husbands, Diane and Frederick J. Krepps of East Brunswick and Pamela and Patrick Lane of Garrett Park, Maryland; three grandsons, Frederick J. Krepps, William F. Lane and Brendan P. Lane; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 9:15 AM Friday from Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick followed by a 10:00 AM Mass at Our Lady of Peace RC Church in North Brunswick. Burial will follow in Van Liew Cemetery in North Brunswick. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home Thursday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM.
