Arthur Murray Obituary
19, 2021. Art was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and family
member. He lived a long and blessed life. A native of Hoopeston, IL and graduate
of the University of Illinois, he was an
Illini through and through. Employed by Continental Bank out of college,
he enjoyed a wonderful 45 year career. Married to his sweetheart Jocelyn, nee
Currie, for 59 years, his family was the world to him. Father to Art
(Betty), Anne (Bryan) Hansen, and Andrew. Proud grandfather to Madison,
Griffin, Alexis and Jack. His joys were his family, Scottish heritage, swing jazz,
nostalgia, Lake Geneva, traveling, and learning and sharing
knowledge with others. A true gentleman who enjoyed connecting with all,
and we are so blessed to have him in our hearts. A burial service took place on
Saturday, September 25 at Floral Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, you may make
gifts to the Parkinson's

I had the pleasure of working with Art from the time I joined Continental Bank in the 1970s for almost three decades. He was a true gentleman and had a level, consistent approach to all of his responsibilities. I likened Art to a `corporate Swiss army knife´. You could put him anywhere in an organization and he would do a great job. He accepted all challenges.

I worked with Art at Continental Bank in the late 70s. He was an absolute gentleman who saw things clearly and was always calm and level-headed. I enjoyed my time with him. I offer my sympathy and express my gratitude for knowing him.
