CASEY DEVER Obituary

CASEY DEVER Casey Roy Dever, 73, of Kearney, Mo, passed away on September 27, 2025, at Liberty Hospital, surrounded by family. Visitation will be 5:00pm to 7:00pm, Thursday, October 2 at Providence Baptist Church. Funeral services will be 10:30am, Friday October 3rd at Providence Baptist Church. Burial will take place right after in the Providence Baptist Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Providence Baptist Church or the Shriners Children's Hospital. Casey was born on June 15, 1953, in Independence Missouri, to William "Jesse" and June (Butron) Dever. Casey graduated from Liberty High School in 1971. Casey married, Barbara Jean Warren, June 3, 1977. He worked as a journeyman lineman and cable splicer for KCP&L in the Kansas City area for almost 30 years before retiring in 2011. Casey was a Master Mason and Shriner for over 50 years. He was also an avid fisherman and deer hunter. Casey was a member of the Brookfield Elks Lodge, where he hunted with his boys, family and friends. Casey served as a volunteer firefighter and police officer in Kearney. Casey enjoyed the lake life, buying and remodeling a property in Cole Turkey Acres near Warsaw, in the late 80's. He loved sharing the lake and fishing with his children, grandchildren and friends for several years after retirement, returning to Kearney full time just a few years ago. Casey is survived by wife, Barb Dever of Kearney; sons, WC (Holly) Dever of Centerview, and Josh (Jenni) Dever of Kearney; sister, Judy (Joe) Proctor of Liberty; brother, Bill (Debbie) Dever of La Vernia Tx; sister, Gina (Steve) Finley of Braymer, 12 grandchildren; Nick, Dailee, Brock, Casey Joe, Cora, Cash, Emalyn, Georgia, Izaiah, Liliana, Malik, Logan and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
