MILTON — Loreda Ellouise "Susie" Davis, 85, of Milton, passed away Monday, January 2, 2017 in St. Mary's Medical Center.
She was born October 7, 1931 in Putnam County, a daughter of the late Herbert and Maggie "Virgie" Young Deal. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth Ashworth and her second husband, Arie Davis. Susie worked as a cook for Mason County Board of Education at Hannan High School and Ashton Elementary and she loved to fish.
She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Dale and Jeannie Ashworth of Milton, Kendal and Linda Ashworth of Ashton and Sherman and Karen Ashworth of Fraziers Bottom; two daughters and one son-in-law, Sharon and Terry Yates of Milton and Carolyn Elkins of Milton; one sister and brother-in-law, Wilma Lorene and Martin Doss of Nitro; 9 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton. Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Ronnie Long officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. she was my favorite cook when I was attending hannan school. she was always smiling and seemed to enjoy her job. she will be greatly missed
