APPLE GROVE — Mary J. "Sissy" Price Edmonds, 74, of Apple Grove, W.Va. went home to be with The Lord on November 17, 2021, surrounded by her family. She was born February 24, 1947, in Hogsett, W.Va., a daughter of the late John William Price and Cora (Persinger) Price. Mary was a proud member of the Mason County Democratic Women's Organization and she attended Barton Chapel Church. Mary was a rural letter carrier for 27 years. She would bring parcels to the door and candy for the children on her route in Gallipolis Ferry, W.Va.
Mary is survived by her loving husband of 57 years James Martin Edmonds and two children, Bruce Edmonds and Michele "Shelly" Becher and one brother, Marlin (Phyllis) Price all of Apple Grove. She was Granny and Grammy to her five grandchildren, Ashley (Mikee) Rainey, Nicholas Edmonds, Brandon (Molly) Butcher, Elizabeth (Tyler) Grinstead and Blake Edmonds. Great-grandchildren Skylar, Yanara, Marshall, Nikki, Victoria, RayLynn, Emery and Gavin. Step Great Grandchildren Jasmine, Justin, Gabe, and Ivory. Aunt sis to several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by six brothers: Leo, Gene, Willie, Kenny, Doug, and Harvey Price. Three sisters: Dorothy Marie Watson, Betty Simpkins, Sharon Lynn (infant), and a sister-in-law, Geraldine Price.
A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 20, 2021, at Deal Funeral Home with Pastor Ronnie Long officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior. Burial will follow at Barton Chapel Cemetery in Apple Grove. Social distancing and face mask are recommended for everyone's safety. Deal Funeral Home is serving the family.
