BARBOURSVILLE — Phyllis Jean Fizer, 77, of Barboursville, W.Va., went to be with our Lord surrounded by family and friends at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington.
Phyllis was born to Harold and Edith (Morrow) Bush on May 24, 1943 in Henderson, West Virginia. She was a 1961 graduate of Point Pleasant High School. She married Alfred "Al" Fizer on June 2, 1961 at Bellemead United Methodist Church in Point Pleasant. Phyllis was a loving mother of two daughters Virginia "Ginny" (Fizer) Wall and Lisa Lynn (Fizer) Strom.
Phyllis is preceded in death by her husband Alfred 'Al" Louis Fizer; her daughter Virginia "Ginny" Wall; her parents Harold & Edith (Morrow) Bush; two sisters, Margaret (Byron) Greenlee, and Virginia (Clint) Hesson; and a brother, Junior (Vonceil) Bush.
She is survived by her daughter Lisa (Scott) Strom of Barboursville; four grandchildren, Cassie (Travis) Reed of Gallipolis, Ohio, Keena (Greg) Peck of Cheshire, Ohio, Solomon "Solly" Fizer of Clearwater, Fla., and Cody Strom of Barboursville; a sister-in-law, Kay (Doug) Propst of Livonia, Mich.; seven great grandchildren Preslee, Laella, Colton, Brennan, Aidan, Rylan, and Garrett; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Her most treasured times were spent with her family. Phyllis loved her family and she loved the Lord. She chose to donate her earthly body to the Joan C, Edwards School of Medicine for the advancement of science and education.
A celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Bellemead United Methodist Church in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Chip Bennett officiating.
