HENDERSON — Roy Allen Eads, 77, of Henderson, passed away Thursday, December 16, 2021, at Camden Clark Medical Center in Parkersburg.
He was born October 11, 1944, in Gallipolis, Ohio, a son of the late Roy B. Eads and Mary L. (Burnett) Eads Amos.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Sandra (Mayes) Eads; a sister, Anita Javins; and brothers, Junior Eads and Larry Eads.
Roy was a member of the Mount Alto Church of Christ in Mt. Alto. He was a member of Laborers Union Local 1085 of Parkersburg and was very passionate about his trade as a cement finisher. He was a former Golden Gloves boxer and trainer. Roy was a very proud pawpaw to all of his grandchildren. He had rededicated his life to the Lord and made sure to keep his grandchildren in church, even if it meant having to buy them cones of ice cream at the local Dairy Queen on the way home.
He is survived by daughters, Sandi Wears of Letart and Jessica Eads of Point Pleasant; grandchildren, Shayla (Shane) Hager, Landon Wood, Conner Wood and Kynlee Bush; great-grandchildren, Shanley Hager, Sandra Jo Hager and Sawyer Hager; and a brother Charles (Bertha) Eads of Gallipolis.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 19, 2021, at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with fellow brother in Christ and great friend Arnold Marcum officiating. Burial will follow at the Kirkland Memorial Gardens in Point Pleasant. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service Sunday at the funeral home.
