Gladys Baker Obituary

KERSHAW – Mrs. Baker, widow of James Cleo Baker, died Tuesday, April 16, 2013, in the Lancaster Convalescent Center. Mrs. Baker was born in Kershaw and was a daughter of the late Lemuel and Eula Catoe Garris. She was retired as a retail clerk with Springs Industries and was a member of Kershaw Second Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school for 50 years. Surviving are her brothers-in-laws, Walter H. Baker and his wife, Maxine, of Kershaw; Perry Baker and his wife, Dorothy and Jasper Baker; eight nieces, the Rev. April Baker, Amy Deas, Jeanette Pittman, Sherry Russell, Penny West, Robin Catoe, Wanda Sowell and Deborah Spillman; two nephews, Brad Faulkenberry and Dale Faulkenberry. Funeral services for Gladys Garris Baker are 2 p.m. today, April 19, at Baker Funeral Home, officiated by the Revs. April Baker and Jamie Rogers, with burial in Kershaw City Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Kershaw Second Baptist Church, 7737 Kershaw Camden Highway, Kershaw, SC 29067. Baker Funeral Home is serving the Baker family.
