KINGSTON — Colette (Biernacki) Savage, 64, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., formerly of Kingston, Pa. passed away suddenly at Broward Medical Center, Friday evening, June 3, 2022.
Born on Sept. 21, 1957, Colette was the daughter of the late Edward and Dorothy (Williams) Biernacki and was raised in Kingston with her three sisters solely by her dad, as her mom passed away at a young age. She was a graduate of the Wyoming Valley West High School class of 1975. Soon after graduation she headed to Florida to begin her career in the restaurant industry, where she met many of her lifelong friends. She was very ambitious and had worked in various positions within the industry, but her most proud accomplishment was opening her own company, Colette Savage Catering. After many years, Colette decided to switch career paths. Until retirement she worked at Bureau Veritas. In her retirement years, she spent most of her time working on the board of her condo association and served as president several times. She was very much the glue of her condo family.
She was very smart, independent, strong, and stubborn and could accomplish most anything she would put her mind to.
Colette very much enjoyed time with her daughter, Courtney, and her grandchildren Calli and Luke and showing them the hot spots of Fort Lauderdale, having campouts in the living room, strawberry picking and making banana boats.
Although Colette resided in Florida, she kept her hometown close to her. If it were Sunday, you know Colette would be waving her terrible towel routing for her favorite team, the Pittsburgh Steelers. She may have been their biggest fan!
When Colette came "back home" to visit she would head to her hometown local eats, Stookey's BBQ and Victory Pig Pizza and sometimes have them shipped to her.
In her spare time, she always enjoyed a good book, playing the piano and listening to live music. She was always on top of the news and could give you the cliff notes on world happenings. She was an avid cook and would create delicious recipes of her own. She was a foodie that enjoyed hosting her family of friends to dinner parties and holidays at her place. She was very fun to be in the company of. And if you were lucky enough, you would receive a text to look on your doorstep, because she would leave a little something that she cooked up for you.
Colette is survived by her daughter, Courtney (Savage) Shatrowskas and her husband Jason and grandchildren Calli and Luke of Wyoming, Pa.; sisters Betsy Sanger and her husband Jeff, Atlanta, Ga.; Cheryl Wilson and her husband George, Kingston, Pa.; Claire Rosenko and her husband Tom, Nanticoke, Pa.; her aunt and godmother Alice Biernacki, Mountain Top, Pa. and many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and friends.
Her daughter would like to thank nurse Kelly at Broward Medical Center for the care she gave to her while in the hospital.
A celebration of life with good eats will be held later in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

SO very sorry to hear about the loss of Colette.
Cheryl nearly 5 years ago you and I bumped into each other at the Cemetery in Courtdale. We reminisced that you, your sisters and my siblings would visit together at Lizzy's house (your Grandmother).
We talked about your Mom (Dorothy) was my God Mother.
We had many fun times together.
Where has the time gone?
My condolences to you and your sisters.
