Anne Dunaway Folwell, of Chestertown, MD passed away peacefully on July 25, 2021, at age 94.

She is survived by two children, Susan Ward of Severn MD and Robert Folwell of Gilbertsville, PA, three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Anne, daughter of Mary May and Wayland F. Dunaway, was born on August 10, 1927, in State College PA. She graduated Penn State in 1948, majoring in French and Spanish and later earned a Master of Arts degree in foreign languages. She was a life-long member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She married her sweetheart, William H. Folwell at the University Baptist Church of State college, founded by her fat her, Wayland Fuller Dunaway II, in 1922.

Anne was active in the Heron Point community. She was part of the marketing team and participated in decorating the facility and grounds during holidays. She had a garden plot, growing vegetables and flowers for her home. She loved to travel and was accomplished in sewing and needlework. Following the death of William Folwell in 1997 after 48 years of marriage, she wed widower William N. Hart of Cambridge, MD. They had 18 years together. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who will be sorely missed.

Her family will share a private memorial service and interment at the New London Presbyterian Church/Christian Life Center.

Sue and Bob, I'm so sorry to learn of your mother's passing. I often reminisce about our frequent summers at the beach and playing board games together. Your mom was lots of fun! Last time I saw her was at the memorial party for Wayland that Marge put on at the Nittany Lion Inn. Hope you're both doing well. - Cindy

The members and friends of University Baptist and Brethren Church offer our sincere condolences to your family. As we get ready to celebrate the Centennial of the church's founding in 1922 your family will be remembered. We continue to be a vital congregation in the State College community because of the vision of the Dunaway family.
