Doris V. Schaelts

1936 - 2025

Doris Virginia Schelts, 89 of Massey, MD passed away on May 21, 2025 at home surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Schelts was born on January 1, 1936, daughter of the late Nathaniel C. and Ethel Holden Leager. She was raised in Sudlersville with 12 brothers and sisters. After her marriage to Earl, they moved to Massey where they began their family. Doris was a member of St. Clements Church in Massey, where she provided flowers for the altar for many occasions. She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening.

Along with her parents and husband of 67 years Earl Schelts, she was preceded in death by her 12 siblings.

Mrs. Schelts is survived by her children, Glenn Schelts of Massey, Richard and Kelly Schelts of Galena and Donna and Tom McGinnis of Henderson, MD; 7 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on June 14 from 10 - 11 am. at St. Clement's Church, Massey, MD., where a memorial service will begin at 11 am. Reception to follow in church hall.
