Edgar C. Dixon Sr.

1939 - 2026

Edgar Caldwell Dixon, Sr., 87 of Galena, MD passed away on March 25, 2026 at home.

Mr. Dixon was born on March 16, 1939 in Galena, son of the late Frank Joseph Dixon and Rebecca Copper Dixon. He was a lifetime resident of Kent County, where he lived and worked on the family farm since 1969. He also worked as a machine operator for Johnson Controls for 36 years, retiring in 2013.

Edgar enjoyed hunting and farm life. He had been a active member with the Jehovah Witness.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years Emma Lee Dixon and his brothers, William Dixon and Harry Dixon.

Mr. Dixon is survived by his children, Eddie Dixon, Jr. (Tina) of Galena, Vickie Redman (David) of Galena and Becky Sullivan (Eddie) of Rock Hall; 4 granddaughters, Stephanie DeMaco, Chirsti Barrow, Aleah Thayer and Morgan Koch and 16 great grandchildren Hunter, Alexia, Rylie, Tyler, Julia, Addelyn, Paisley, Noah, Jonathan, Matthew, Christina, Brianna, Sofia, Leighton, Trey and Dominic.

A visitation will be held on Friday, April 3 from 5 to 6 pm in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech,

118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD where a memorial service will follow at 6 pm.
