Eugene Bartholomew "Bart" Riordan

1947 - 2025

Eugene "Bart" Bartholmew Riordan of Goldsboro, MD passed away at his home April 15, 2025, he was 78 years old.

Born February 19, 1947, to the late Emmett Joseph and Adah Mae (Thompson) Riordan in California. Bart grew up in Portsmouth, OH graduating from Portsmouth West High School in 1965. After high school he joined the US Navy serving as a corpsman for both the Navy and US Marine Corps during Vietnam on medivac helicopters from 1969-1970. He was honorably discharged and went on to graduate from Anne Arundel General Hospital in 1973 earning a degree as a Radiology Technician.

He worked for Anne Arundel Medical center then Picker X-ray Corporation for 14 years. After his time with Picker X-ray, he taught flight lessons and began a job as a private pilot on a twin engine Baron. Bart went back to the medical field working for Kent and Queen Anne's Hospital while attending the University of Baltimore earning a Master's Degree in Healthcare Management.

Bart married Laura Dowling in 1980. He was an accomplished pilot and certified scuba instructor working on Kent Island, MD. His most recent employment was working as a imaging specialist with the mortuary affairs department at Dover Air Force Base.

He enjoyed sailing, scuba diving, fishing and hunting.

In addition to his parents Bart was predeceased by his brother, Robert "Robin" Emmett Riordan.

Bart is survived by his wife, Laura Dowling Riordan; brother, Jay Boyd Riordan (Dolores) of California along with many nieces and nephews.

A visitation was held Monday April 21, 2025, from 5:00pm to 6:00pm at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home Chestertown, MD followed by a time to share memories culminating in Military Honors at 6:00pm.
