Gagan Jot "Goldie" Singh

1955 - 2025

Gagan Jot "Goldie" Singh of Crumpton, MD passed away on August 28, 2025 at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore. He was 69 years old.

Goldie was born in Dehli, India, on September 6, 1955, the son of the late Sujit Singh and Pershotam Kaur Singh. He attended a private school in Darjeeling and completed his college degree before moving to the Middle East doing work for a window installation company. From there, he moved to Mississippi for one year before finally settling in Maryland. He soon met the love of his life, Lydia Johnson, at a New Years party in Betterton in 1987. The two were married on July 10, 1987, and enjoyed 38 years together. Goldie worked for LaMotte Chemical and then a local cable company for a few years before beginning his 20-year career as a school bus driver.

Goldie enjoyed collecting fun toys and gadgets - model cars, planes, and even flying drones. He liked building models to display as well as buying premade ones for his collection.

He was preceded in death by his father, Sujit Singh.

He is survived by his wife, Lydia Singh; his mother, Pershotam Singh; daughter, Tabitha Rameika (Mark); brother, Harry Sidhu; grandchildren: Morgan, Ali, and Kinsley; great-grandchildren, Liam and Lainey; as well as his beloved dog Ozzie.

Services will be held on Thursday, September 4 at 11:00 am at Fellows, Helfenbein, and Newnam Funeral Home in Chestertown. A viewing will be held one hour prior, from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at the funeral home. Interment to follow in Crumpton Cemetery.
