Garrel Evan Geiger

1951 - 2025

Dr. Garrel Evan Geiger, "Doc" passed away peacefully on November 1st, 2025 surrounded by loved ones.
He was born in Peoria, Illinois to Frances and Edward Geiger on 5/26/1951. He was preceded in death by his brother Melvin Geiger and his sister Judith Geiger. He is survived by his sons Tracy (Tiffany) Geiger, and Jason Geiger along with 11 loving grandchildren who brought him immense amounts of happiness and pride. Most of all he is survived by his life long love, Julie Geiger, with whom he shared 45 wonderful years of marriage.
He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree from the University of Illinois and shortly after started his practice in Delavan, WI. There, he cared for the community for almost 24 years while growing his practice to one the largest practices at the time in Wisconsin.
He then fell in love with Sierra Vista while scouting out warmer weather without mosquitos. He proceeded to spend the last 22 years making innumerous friends and creating amazing memories within the backdrop of the beautiful Arizona desert and mountains he loved so much.
When not in his clinic, he spent most of time at his favorite hangout Pueblo Del Sol (PDS) surrounded by his close friends Joe Paiz, Anni Tiemann, Pete Hesser, Nancy Brown, Don Price, and Jack Isler along with the wonderful current and past crew of the PDS grill and every patron who shared his love of PDS.
He loved his job with all his heart and all of his skills and passion were poured into his practice where he absolutely adored each and everyone of his cherished clients and their furry family members. His practice wouldn't have been possible without the support of his co-workers Teena and Frank Pizano, Donna Graybill, Becky Sizemore, Annette Long, Aiden Zamora and everyone that helped out or chose his care along with way. He was so thankful to be able to do what he did and for everyone that made that possible. Also, a special thank you to Krystal Jacobs for caring for Dad when he needed it most.
After 45 years, and finally hanging up his stethoscope, he joined his family spending his time with grandchildren sleepovers, trips to Disney, family cruises, and many moments just taking it all in. If you knew Doc, he was one of the most positive, kind, and uplifting human being who was always there to lend a hand or a kind word.
Rest assured, heaven just got a new veterinarian and he is probably already back to work loving every moment it.
