Steve Bame Obituary

'Sunspot the Dragon, Fearless Leader of Space Patrol, At your service'
Steven Allen Bame, aka "Hippie Steve" passed from this earth on Saturday Sept 20, 2025 at the age of 82 after a long illness.
He had a traditional upbringing in Findlay, OH where he spent many long hours hunting, fishing and exploring nature as well as hot rodding and carousing around the county with his friends.
As a young man he moved West and created a new life for himself by relying on his diverse skills to support himself doing work that was suited to his personality and that he truly enjoyed.
Antique dealer, leather worker, antler peace pipe maker, fisherman, pool shark and more, he was a force of nature with a fine scientific mind, quick wit, and on occasion a quick temper.
He was extroverted and charismatic, with many friends, especially at the numerous swap meets that he attended throughout the Southwest with his longtime companion, Sue Perlman. He loved buying, selling and trading and was always generous with his time and extensive knowledge in the many areas of the antique world.
In his later years he was known all around the streets of Bisbee for the unique hat that he made sporting local bird feathers and odd furry animal faces.
He is pre-deceased by his parents, Rolland and Treva Bame and survived by Sue; plus his brother, Jim; his son, Ken; daughter, Sonia; and grandson, Hans.
He will be sorely missed by the many who knew him during his long life.
